Careers at Abel and Cole

About us

Abel & Cole has been delivering boxes of food to people’s homes since 1988, which is a pretty long time in the world of food delivery. Now part of the William Jackson Food Group, a sixth generation family business, we are true to our values and look after our people, respect them and appreciate their role in our success. We strive daily to live up to our ambition of being ‘a business to be proud of’.

Everyone who is part of Abel & Cole, from our farmers and makers to our customers via all the people who work here, care about fantastic food that is good for us and the world around us. We’re uplifting, alternative and bold and we love doing good stuff. No air freight, no silly packaging, no chemical nonsense – just great food from people who really love what they do.

We operate across 10 sites in the UK, with our bases in south London and Andover. We employ about 600 friendly, fun, caring and hardworking people and deliver to around 60,000 healthy, happy homes a week.

We’re always learning and seeking out new ways to do better and be better, so join us as we continue to develop and grow.

Our values

We Believe in Organic Food

We love discovering, delivering and educating others about amazing organic and wild food that makes our customers (and us!) feel good about life.

We Care

We care about each other, the environment, our farmers and suppliers and our customers –this is key to a happy, healthy future.

We Have Fun

We stand out from the crowd because we are informative and fun. This helps us inspire people to feel good about making better food choices and nudge them to change habits for the better.

We are Bold

We embrace the spirit of adventure in everything we do and love the thrill of the new. We never stand still in our mission to seek out new and alternative ways of doing things.

What is our culture like?

Love food? You're in the right place. We like to kick off our mornings with a freshly brewed coffee, or a range of organic teas, to wash down our morning toast. There's an abundance of fruit for elevensies, and a delicious organic lunch cooked every day by our in-house chef.

When we're not eating you'll find us meeting over a game of veg themed crazy golf, or burning some energy at the ping pong table (bring your game face though, the competition is fierce). Midweek you might find us donning our bee suits and checking in on the 100,000 bees who call our place home in return for some delicious fresh honey.

When work is done, there's a chill out room, hammocks, and the occasional massage on offer, and of course come Friday evening we like to kick back in our very own Ladle and Bowl with a bottle of organic beer.

We're part of the William Jackson Food Group, and throughout the year you'll find us teaming up with colleagues across the business to climb the Three Peaks, complete a Total Warrior, or take a trip out to our charity project in Malawi. We play together and work together, visiting each other's sites and learning from one another's experiences.

We don't like to sit still for too long, so training and development is at the heart of all we do. Self-improvement workshops run every month, and outside of work grants are available for everything from a new kit for your football team, to language lessons, to photography courses. The world is your oyster!
