Careers at KOKO Networks

KOKO is a venture-backed start-up, and Africa’s leading climate-tech consumer platform, driving the switch from deforestation-based charcoal cooking fuel to modern sustainable cooking fuel. In Africa, charcoal is a $30 billion+ market and is the leading driver of deforestation. KOKO’s solution reduces carbon emissions, as well as protecting forests which play a critical role in absorbing carbon and enabling biodiversity. KOKO Fuel is sustainable bioethanol cooking fuel that is available within a short walk of all homes, through a dense network of KOKO Fuel ATMs inside local corner stores. The consumer experience is modern, clean, ultra-safe and delivers 50% cost savings versus charcoal. KOKO’s first Network in Nairobi was launched in late 2019, and has seen rapid growth throughout the COVID pandemic, with 450% growth in its subscriber base in 2021. More than 450,000 households now use the solution. KOKO is scaling across Kenya and preparing for international expansion. In late 2021, we also launched KOKO Club, a tech-enabled direct-to-consumer retail platform that enables everyday low prices on a range of food and FMCG products.
