Chayn is a global non-profit that creates digital, multilingual resources to support the healing of survivors of gender-based violence. Our focus is on empowering women and other marginalised genders who have experienced domestic, sexual or tech-based abuse. Every decision we make – and every resource we create – has lived experience at its core. So far, we’ve helped 400,000 survivors around the world. And – with a mission to make technology a tool for health, not harm – we reach more every day. Our digital platform Bloom offers remote support through videos and written resources, as well as a direct chat with our team. Our guides collate vital information and advice in simple, and easy-to-understand language. And our Soul Medicine service sends daily affirmations to uplift women in difficulty, written by those who’ve experienced abuse first-hand. Where we go next is led by what survivors need. Our name (pronounced ‘ch-en’) means peace of mind in Urdu. We believe every survivor deserves solace - and we won't stop until that's accomplished.
Escape's take on Chayn
Chayn is a global, volunteer-run charity organisation that supports survivors of abuse and trauma. They provide digital tools and resources that are easily accessible, and in multiple languages, to help support those in crisis, escape violence and rebuild their lives. Not only do they make a huge impact on those they support, they also do a lot for their team. They are a fully remote and flexible team with a supportive and understanding approach. A great organisation to consider if you are multilingual, keen on supporting those in need and looking for a flexible and remote environment.

I am an artist, I am doing a Masters part time, and I run a small publishing company - so I am super busy outside of my work for Chayn all the time! Chayn have given me so many options for how to plan my working hours, as well as a huge amount of support for everything else I do. I am so grateful to them, because without their flexibility, I wouldn't have been able to do my MA and carry on doing all the other things I love - including working for them!

The team members at Chayn are a beautiful, diverse, intelligent mix of wonderful people. I feel so lucky to call many of my colleagues friends, and to have fostered life-long relationships. Everyone is so supportive, generous and kind.
👻 Transparency
All team members and volunteers are invited to attend the Board Meetings, weekly budget calls, and to observe on any call in the team calendar. I really appreciate this as it gives us all an opportunity to see how different parts of the organisation work, and so see all the great things our colleagues do!
Overall
I love working for Chayn. It's fast paced and challenging work, but so rewarding, and I feel very well looked after. Monthly wellbeing check-ins (which include a treat!) are part of every team members schedule, and we have access to one-on-one therapy sessions if we'd like them too.
