Sustainable Danbury is a community benefit society (commonly known as a Society or a ‘co-op’). It was formed in 2022 by residents of the village of Danbury in Essex. It helps places by promoting sustainability in the local area with the eventual aim to generate community owned renewable power in the district (known as 'distributed energy').  The organisation aims to expand into the wider district of Chelmsford with additional voluntary support.   This work matters so that carbon can be saved and local places have greater resilence in terms of saving energy and avoiding costs.
