The Seven Dials Trust works - To protect and enhance the built environment and public realm of Seven Dials, through the realisation of the vision set out in the ‘Seven Dials Renaissance Studies’ and other projects. - To promote the safety and well-being of those who live in, work in or visit Seven Dials. - To promote exemplary practice in the conservation of historic places. The Seven Dials Trust was set up in 1984 to restore one of London’s ‘great public ornaments’ and to promote major environmental improvements in Seven Dials. The Sundial Pillar was unveiled in 1989 – the first project of its kind in London since Nelson’s Column. The Trust, a small voluntary body, has continued to work in partnership with local authorities, major landowners, national agencies and local amenity groups to promote and bring about exemplary environmental improvements in this unique and historic conservation area, home to strong and vibrant residential and commercial communities, as well as visitors from all over the world.
