We have an incredible range of craft skills in the UK and some of the best craftspeople in the world. These skills will only survive if they live in each generation - but many of these skills are in the hands of an ageing population and could be extinct in the next five years. The Heritage Crafts Association (HCA) is the only organisation that exists to safeguard and promote traditional craft skills in the UK. Working in partnership with government and key agencies, the HCA provides a focus for craftspeople, groups, societies and guilds, as well as individuals who care about the loss of traditional crafts skills, and works towards a healthy and sustainable framework for the future. Our charitable remit is to advance public knowledge and appreciation of traditional and heritage crafts, in particular, but not exclusively, through education, advice and training.
