Our charity began as a grassroots effort to connect homeless pet owners with vital vet care. Guided by the voices of those we serve, we quickly saw the tough choices many face—between finding safe accommodation and surrendering their only family, their pet. Our community-led approach has driven our growth. We have expanded our services from organising vet care to becoming a comprehensive network that upholds both human dignity and the human-animal bond. We provide training and resources to help hostels and temporary housing services become pet-friendly. Our goal is to make sure more people can access shelter with their pets.  Street Paws’ work demonstrates that compassion for humans and animals is intertwined—we can achieve this by; Expanding Pet-Friendly Housing : Mandate pet-inclusive policies in shelters and social housing. Integrating Animal Welfare into Homelessness Strategies : Train staff in pet support and fund veterinary partnerships. Raising Public Awareness : Combat stigma by highlighting pets’ role in fostering resilience and community cohesion.
