I help people who feel stuck in pain, even after trying everything, find clarity, move with ease, and break free from discomfort. My approach goes beyond just treating the bits that hurt - I look at the entire system of body, mind, and daily habits to uncover what’s keeping pain and stress stuck in place.
Instead of short-term fixes (stretch this, massage that), which act like a mechanic patching up individual parts only for the same issues to resurface, I take a different approach. I teach you how to drive your body with skill, awareness, and ease - so you don’t need constant adjustments to feel good in your movement.
As a Pain & Movement Coach informed by the Alexander Technique, I help people reconnect with their natural coordination, creating a profound shift in how they move and respond to stress. Alexander Technique teachers train for three years full-time to refine their use of hands and words - not to manipulate but to guide, helping people release hidden tension and rediscover easeful movement. This work can be deeply calming - like an embodied meditation - where mental chatter dissolves, and a sense of lightness and ease emerges.
As a former Head of HR and career strategist, I also support people navigating work-related pain, career transitions, and returning to work after illness. Whether you're adapting to new work circumstances or redesigning your career around your well-being, I help you find direction and confidence.
I am a certified Alexander Technique teacher and pain recovery coach, and my passion for this work is deeply personal. I once lived with chronic pain that left me unable to work, depressed and dependent on painkillers. Combining the Alexander Technique with physio and manual therapy transformed my life—it provided me with a practical, simple method to reduce my pain and regain control of my body and life. Whilst still disabled, I can now work and live a fulfilling life. This experience showed me how powerful mindful movement can be, and there is a huge opportunity to end this unnecessary suffering at scale and help so many people lead healthy, vital lives.
Chronic pain is a significant issue in the UK, affecting millions and contributing to physical disability, mental health challenges, and social isolation. The NHS offers limited options for managing chronic pain, with long waiting times and a lack of holistic, patient-centred approaches. While traditional NHS services often focus on medical treatments, the latest NICE guidelines highlight that physical activity is the most effective intervention for chronic pain management. However, even this approach is not widely available or integrated into standard care pathways. We aspire to be a social enterprise and are in the next round of funding with UnLtd to make these services affordable to many more people.
Wouldn't it be amazing to bridge the gap between physical health, emotional well-being, and pain management? That's exactly what Beyond Pain does, through the integration of the Alexander Technique, mindfulness, and the latest in pain science. And they do it with an exceptional approach to team wellbeing and flexibility, offering unlimited holidays, flexible working and a 4 day working week.
