Resurgo means "to raise up again."‚Äã It describes our mission to help communities overcome social challenges through outstanding church-based social ventures. By bringing together skills and resources from across the wider neighbourhood, we tackle complex issues in a truly transformative way.

Resurgo's main initiative Spear bridges the gap between unemployed young people and businesses, while Resurgo Investors accelerates the reach and impact of outstanding church-based social ventures through social investment.

Spear delivers a free pre-employment six-week course for unemployed 16- 24 year olds, which tackles attitudinal and practical barriers that often prevent young people from difficult backgrounds getting into work.

Spear then incorporates a unique coaching consultancy and recruitment service that helps businesses achieve greater success with young employees, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds. We partner with businesses to recruit work-ready young people – reducing staff turnover and ensuring long-term success.

Over the past decade, through the Spear programme Resurgo has helped over 2,500 young people into employment or education.

In July 2010, following six months of due diligence, Resurgo was adopted onto the Impetus PEF venture philanthropy portfolio to support its impact, replication and growth.

In 2013, Resurgo won the Guardian Charity Awards recognised for their outstanding contribution to social welfare, excellence and innovation amongst small and medium sized charities.
