Our founder, Alex Chappatte, had been building brands in the UK and across Africa over 10 years and worked on fantastic brands such as Kit Kat, Stella Artois and Jameson at big companies such as Nestle, AB-Inbev and Pernod Ricard. Prior to moving to Kenya, she led the Pernod Ricard West Africa marketing team to triple digit growth in 4 markets on Jameson within a year.

When she moved to Kenya she felt there was a gap in quality beverage products that hero the African story. She set up Kenyan Originals to address this gap. We have since launched a range of African craft beverage products in Kenya, including real Kenyan fruit ciders, Kenyan craft tonics and Kenyan ice tea using 100% real ingredients from Africa. The company is seeing great traction with double digit growth MoM. Kenyan Originals ciders and tonics were selected as finalists for the world innovation beverage awards on the 11th November 2020 in the categories 'best botanical drink' and 'best alcohol'. We have also now launched a spirits range under Kenyan Originals using real botanicals from Kenya.

Launching African Originals will be a new dawn. We are looking for great 'African Originals' to help us on our mission.
