Careers at Sawday's

We're an award-winning Bristol-based travel company on an exciting journey. Our mission is to make the world a richer place to explore by seeking out and celebrating special places to stay and eat.

About us

We believe that business should be a force for good, enriching rather than exploiting communities, the environment, our employees and the lives of those who use us.  Being responsible is not only right, but great business too.

Our company is only as good as the people who work for it. We are always on the hunt for great people to help shape our future, to bring energy, ideas and determination, and to nurture and develop our special culture.

We need people for whom work is more than just '9 to 5', who believe in making the world a better, more interesting and richly-experienced place and who have the drive to carve out a career doing just that here at Sawday’s. Is that you?

Our next leg

We are now embarking on some pretty exciting new projects, shifting our business model, overhauling our digital world and preparing the company for the next twenty years. We’re just beginning.

We need smart, switched on, ambitious, self-starting, curious, capable people to make this all happen. People who get our culture, share our values and want a job to be, well, more than just a job.  The future of travel has never been more exciting – our twenty years’ experience of creating special, life enriching experiences for people is now more relevant than ever.

What is our culture like?

Inside, you’ll find a group of people with a shared passion for creating a truly special business: one based on respect and trust, where we work hard, have high expectations of each other (ours is a fast moving and competitive market, after all) but also have fun. Work, let’s not forget, is where we spend most of our time.

Our values underpin our culture:

  1. Be Empathetic and Generous-spirited
  2. Celebrate Quirk and Difference
  3. Be Adventurous, Curious and Open-Minded
  4. Simplify Everything
  5. And Have a Positive Impact on the World

These are not for show, it’s the way we try to work, always.

There are around 50 of us here in our colourful, upcycled, recycled, open plan offices slap bang on the water on Bristol’s buzzing harbourside. We’re ten minutes’ walk from the train station, fewer still to a covered food market, waterfront bars and edgy galleries.

And, of course, we’re in striking distance of all those things people love about the West Country:  mountains, beaches, rivers, hills and cider.   Last Thursday drinks are a popular event and each new team member gets to go on a familiarity trip to one of our places and there are always staff awards for nights away.  We have a big communal kitchen (for our regular company lunches cooked by the inimitable Victoria) and a newly arrived concert grand piano. Why? Why not!
