SMCA exists and promotes activities and services by
providing opportunities for recreation and leisure aimed at improving the health, wellbeing and quality of life of the local community; encouraging participation in the wider community through the medium of professional, appropriate, responsive, and effective support; working in partnership with the local authority, other voluntary organisations, and residents to ensure that SMCA’s activities and services are accessible to all sections of the community served; removing barriers which may prevent those most at social, economic, or educational disadvantage from having reasonable access to our activities and facilities; being committed to the principles of equality, diversity and inclusion, challenging bias or prejudice and designing and managing our services to respect and value difference; and maintaining and managing the South Mitcham Community Centre (whether alone or in cooperation with any statutory authority or other person or body) to support the efficient and effective delivery of services and facilities in furtherance of the above objects.
