Careers at Stripe & Stare

It all started with a question... Why is there no cool, ultra comfortable knicker for women to wear everyday? Katie couldn’t understand why there was no knicker perfect for everyday, so comfortable you could put it on, forget you are wearing it and leave you to focus on more important things. And specifically one created by women for women. Where were the options between ultra sexy Victoria’s Secret and ultra frumpy M&S? She set out on a 6 year quest to create the world’s most comfortable (and sustainable) knicker.

The Stripe & Stare story is one of female founder strength and an unwavering commitment to planting playfulness in sustainable clothes. Six years of starting conversations all over the world, discovering the best fabrics and meeting reliable producers, finally delivered the foundations of our brand: TENCEL'" Micro Modal. Made sustainably in Austria from Beechwood Trees, the Stripe & Stare fabric is scientifically proven to be three times softer than cotton, wears better and is just as breathable as fresh air in a forest of responsibly planted trees.

A female-founded, British brand, Stripe & Stare was born in London and grown in the South-West countryside of the UK. Designed for the modern woman, too fun for frumpy underpants and too busy to wear anything uncomfortable that won’t support her throughout the day. Lovers of bold colours, a good print and knowing we’re dressing for no one but ourselves. We understand our terminology, and often our accents, are not universally understood. Briefs? Panties? Knickers? Undies? Call them what you like, their comfort speaks for itself.

From our brains to your bush, our business is brimming with curiosity, independence and powerful, unapologetic women. Our knickers, loungewear and sleepwear are for the sustainable shopper who doesn't want to compromise when it comes to style, sustainability and most of all comfort.

We always aim to do the right thing and the smart thing – with a sense of humour and a smile on our faces.

Because nothing great was EVER achieved in uncomfortable knickers.
