We are solving the key finance bottleneck for solving energy access and climate change
*The problem* Around 750 million people globally have no access to grid electricity, while economies are stunted by unreliable power, but solar energy can solve a large part of the problem. However, a key bottleneck for many companies in the off-grid solar sector is the availability of scalable and appropriate debt financing. This is also the case for many other climate investments in emerging markets.
*Our solution* SunFunder provides loans for clean energy companies and other climate interventions that serve people and businesses in emerging markets, particularly in Africa and Asia. We do this by offering investors diversified, high-impact, fixed income blended finance opportunities in our debt funds. We were the first mover a decade ago, have the most extensive track record of emerging market distributed solar investments (60 companies financed) and have pioneered market-leading solutions.
We prioritise our people, diversity, and promote work-life harmony. We offer a unique work culture for an ambitious company that strongly encourages a healthy life-work balance, and an opportunity to work with a fun, passionate and talented international team. Qualities that are important to us: a positive attitude, intellectual curiosity, low-ego, and a good sense of humour.
Our mission is to source and deploy low-cost financing for solar projects to make clean, safe, affordable energy accessible to all.
