Who - The company's activities will be carried on for the benefit of the community of those at risk of, or with, suicidal ideation, and those with diagnosed or undiagnosed neurodiversity or neurodiversity traits that increase the risk of suicidal ideation and risk of death through suicide and/or substance misuse. Why - As a member of this community, with lived experience, I am all too aware of the blind-spots around the passive discrimination, barriers and harms endured by the neurodiverse from the dominate societal structures and dominate neuro-type. The neurodiverse are a disproportionately represented demographic in attempted and completed suicide and suicidal ideation. It's a matter of urgency that greater awareness and acceptance of neurodiversity be the paradigm shift of our time, that long term structural modifications are implemented to turn the tide on the mental, emotional, suicide crisis. I am part of a demographic who falls outside of a connection with the established approaches to suicide prevention. Globally, on average, an individual completes suicide every 40 seconds, so I'm clearly not alone. The dominance of Neurotypical lead organisations permeates the suicide prevention space. Dr Damian Milton, brought attention to what he termed The Double Empathy Problem, which highlights the internal differences between the neuro-types. It is long overdue that a Nothing About Us Without Us, neurodiverse designed approach begins to have a presence. How - The C.I.C has four business strands using a multidisciplinary approach: Artistic Creation, Research & Experimental Development on Social Sciences & Humanities, Sound Recording & Music Publishing, and Retail Sale Via Mail Order Houses or Via The Internet.
