nsif is a charity that funds research into curing paralysis from spinal cord injury. It was founded by chef David Nicholls in 2005 following an accident which left his son paralysed. The research the charity funds has had a major breakthrough which was documented by BBC Panorama in a documentary broadcast in October 2014 called To Walk Again and more recently in 60 minutes Australia. It has received coverage across all the national broadsheets such as the Times the Independent the Telegraph and the Guardian.
While the charity is small at present the research it funds is producing extremely exciting results. It is recognised by leading scientific journalists as being at the forefront of its field globally. The charity has a significant opportunity to raise more funding and grow the profile of research into curing paralysis from spinal cord injury.
