ViaNinos is a small, volunteer-led charity that fundraises to provide educational opportunities for street and working children in Quito, Ecuador. The young children are taken to work in markets with their parents to help earn income to support their families, depriving them of a childhood and education. We work in partnership with two local community organisations (CENIT and UBECI) that do vital and fantastic outreach work to take the younger children out of markets to a secure place to play, learn and develop life skills. The older children are given a specialised schooling as they're unable to attend mainstream education.  Alongside this, these organisations provide training for the children and their families as well as social, psychological and emotional support and healthcare.   Through our fundraising and the work of our partner organisations, we help hundreds of children get an education which, in turn, breaks the cycle of poverty for their families as the children are able to achieve more gainful employment in the longer-term.
