Careers at vinnumber.net

VinNumber.net launched in 2025 with a straightforward purpose: give used car buyers access to the vehicle history data that already exists but rarely shows up in a sales listing. Every vehicle sold in the US carries a 17-character VIN that connects to a trail of records — accidents filed with insurers, odometer readings logged at every registration, title brands issued after floods or total losses, recall notices from NHTSA, and auction records from the wholesale market. We pull from 110+ of those databases and deliver a full report in about 30 seconds. We have processed more than 10,000 reports so far. Our users are individual buyers trying not to get burned, dealers who want to know what they are buying at auction, and fleet managers replacing vehicles on a schedule. Beyond the tool itself, we write about used car fraud. Our scam watch section tracks real patterns — odometer tampering, flood cars resold with clean titles, and auction-to-retail discrepancies. Our guides walk first-time buyers through the process. The market data section tracks pricing and volume trends.
