Y.E.S.

Y.E.S. is a grass roots charity set up in 1988 in Colchester by a group of local people worried about the children and young people of the area 'falling through the net' of statutory services. Since that time we have grown in line with our client group and last year reached over 1,500 Children and young people.YES provides services supporting 6-25 year olds including Crisis intervention and on going counselling, Homelessness prevention and Teenage pregnancy and young parent support work focusing on this vulnerable client group around maintaining healthy tenancies, positive parenting and the Raising Children out of Poverty agenda. We have two centres in Colchester and Tendring and cover North East Essex. We have well developed referral pathways and established partnerships within our community including Health, Education, Statutory and voluntary sector partners Local networks.  It is well research and doumented that young people are vulnerbale in the North East Essex around digital and food poverty, fitnesss and access to leisure facilities. Young people face educational and employment challenges and a high level of post COVID anxiety and mentla health concerns.
