Welcome. We’re redefining work as a pathway to purpose. _SocialStarters delivered 500+ volunteer consulting projects for 386 social enterprises in five countries. Professionals from Microsoft, KPMG, Deloitte, Salesforce, Pernod Ricard, and L’Oréal shared their skills to help early-stage ventures solve challenges. Many discovered new purpose, moving into social enterprise, sustainability, or B-Corp careers.
Though SocialStarters closed in 2023, its legacy lives on in 'Social Starters: Make Changing the World Your Business', the new book by co-founder Andrea Gamson (September 2025). Blending manifesto and practical guide, it distils fifteen years of learning into six steps for activating your role as a social starter. The book empowers readers to harness entrepreneurship for social good, showing how business can be a powerful force for change, while championing a deep inner quest, promising to “nourish the spirit of the reader” (Satish Kumar).

The Inner Quest is a 6-week journey from Social Starters, designed for career changers, seekers, and doers. Through weekly missions, reflection prompts, and practical career-shift tools, all seen through a social and environmental impact lens, you’ll explore your values, strengths, and vision, gaining clarity and momentum for your next chapter.
Alongside bite-sized assignments, you’ll have community support and the guidance of Andrea Gamson, author of Social Starters, who has spent 15 years helping 500+ changemakers build meaningful careers.
How is the programme structured?
It runs over 6 weeks of self-study, with guided exercises you can complete at your own pace. Along the way, there are optional live touchpoints and peer reflection opportunities, starting in October 2025. Expect 2–3 hours a week of focused mini-assignments to help you reflect, experiment, and take meaningful action.
Who runs the programme?
Andrea Gamson is an award-winning social enterprise leader, author, and purpose-driven business coach. For 15+ years she has helped changemakers around the world start social businesses, shift careers, and build thriving communities. She is the founder of Social Impact.Support, Netshift CIC, and the author of Social Starters: Make Changing the World Your Business (Balboa Press, 2025).

Inner Quest is a 6-week / 6 part self-study course guided by Social Starters’ 6 Ps of Purpose framework. You’ll receive weekly video lessons, journaling prompts, and mini coaching assignments that help you reconnect with who you are and align your work and life with what truly matters.
Alongside the course is a whatsapp group, a community call, and additional coaching and mentoring to support you on your quest.
The first cohort begins Friday 24 October 2025. You’ll have 3 months access to all videos, workbooks, and reflection tools, so you can complete the course at your own pace and revisit it any time. Of course the 6 week pace is designed to motivate participants to keep going and achieve their goals.

Yes! Inner Quest is the first step in a larger journey. In Spring 2026, Social Starters will open Purpose Quest a deeper 12-week group programme for those ready to turn reflection into action and bring their purpose to life through real-world projects and community accountability.
Inner Quest graduates receive priority access and a special alumni rate.
All course fees are non refundable so ensure this is a purchase you do really want before buying. If you’ve begun the course and decide it’s not for you, email support@socialimpact.support within 7 days from start date to share why and maybe there is extra support we can give, such as extending the period of time you can access the course. After that period, the course and coaching sessions are non-refundable, but you’ll retain your 3 months access.
