The Company
Sustainable Ventures is a full service ecosystem empowering sustainable start-ups to scale through community, investment, innovation and workspace. We believe in the power of commercial innovation to address the twin challenges of climate change and resource scarcity.
On our journey so far, we have supported 330 sustainable businesses and invested in 30 climate tech start-ups, more than any other investor in the UK. Our team includes some of the country’s most talented sector specialist venture development and investment professionals, all dedicated to creating value for our community whilst making the world a better place.
In 2020, we secured funding through Lambeth Council and Big Issue Invest to fit-out and launch over 40,000 square feet of workspace within the iconic County Hall on South Bank to house our ever-expanding ecosystem. We are due to commence construction in May, completing in October and we are now expanding our Workspaces team to look after our rapidly growing community and establish our long-term HQ in London.
The Role
This role is critical to the growth ambitions of Sustainable Ventures, with the Membership Manager helping to ensure we build and maintain a vibrant ecosystem of sustainable businesses at our newest coworking space in County Hall, where we will host over 1000 members across 100+ companies.
You will be managing our membership funnel, setting up initial phone calls to learn about enquiring businesses, carrying out tours of our workspace, and agreeing membership deals and signing contracts. You will work closely with the Managing Director through the launch phase, ensuring the space opens with a vibrant community in place. Once launched, you will work with the Workspace Manager to ensure the space maintains a bustling ecosystem of sustainable activity.
In addition to your new membership responsibilities, you will also have an operational ('desktop') focus, with account management duties, looking after members and their account, discussing changes to their packages and updating to our systems and contracts. You will lead our on-boarding process, working with the Front of House team to ensure members are made to feel at home when they arrive on day one.
You will also act as a support mechanism and sounding board for the Community, keeping up to date on any recent good news or challenges, making relevant introductions to support. You will coordinate with the Programme and Events Manager and the wider Community Team to plan and deliver social, workshop and well-being events to support member growth and enhance member experience, aiming to improve upon our current average member rating of 8.7/10.
In this role, you will also work with the Venture Support Team within Sustainable Ventures, to ensure we are making connections between service offerings, maximising value for the businesses in the ecosystem through engagement with Sustainable Ventures.
This is a really exciting opportunity to join a business at a rapid stage of growth, with significant room for personal and career development; it's a chance to support sustainable businesses through the provision of an amazing workspace and supportive community, in turn contributing to a more sustainable world for generations to come.
