African Impact is a multi-award winning African based Social Enterprise. We run 40 social development and conservation-based projects across the continent, which support volunteer, internships and Study Abroad programs that make a sustainable difference on the continent.

We believe in the value of responsible and ethical travel and celebrate the personal development this offers travellers and our impact on social development and conservation. Our Foundation funds programs that further the impact made by our volunteers and interns.

The Senior Digital Marketing Officer oversees the promotion of our Brands, including volunteering, internships and Study Abroad activities online. They are responsible for identifying new customers, advising our product development, supporting lead generation, managing social channels and crafting the business's overall marketing and content strategy. A vital component will be the development of all aspects of our Social Media strategy.

The right person will have experience in creating and delivering an online marketing strategy based on sound market and customer research and within an agreed budget; they will be a fantastic communicator, an advocate of responsible travel and bring fun, passion and energy across the organisation. 

Remote working is an option, or you can be based in one of our offices in the UK, or Cape Town.

Responsibilities:

Planning and strategy

  • Develop an online marketing strategy that maximises profits and market share but considers customer satisfaction.
  • Plan multi-channel marketing campaigns, including web, SEO/SEM, email, social media, display advertising, and offline sources
  • Brainstorm new and creative growth strategies.
  • Understand and develop budgets, including expenditures, research and development appropriations, and return-on-investment projections.
  • Ensure the right message for each product is consistently delivered and creates a lasting impression to drive our Marketing and Sales.

Research and evaluation

  • Carry out Market research to fully understand our customers. 
  • Measuring and reporting on the performance of all marketing campaigns.
  • Utilise strong analytical ability to evaluate end-to-end customer experience across multiple channels and customer touch points.
  • Plan, execute, and measure experiments and conversion tests.
  • Identify trends and insights, and optimise spend and performance based on the insights.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies. Provide thought leadership and perspective for adoption where appropriate.
  • Implementing and producing workflows for our CRM and other systems. Daily, weekly and monthly dashboard reporting.

Digital Marketing

  • Collaborate with internal teams to create landing pages and optimise user experience.
  • Maintain our social media presence across all digital channels and new channels
  • Implement conversion points and optimise user funnels.
  • Support sales and lead generation efforts.

Other

  • Oversee the production of material used when attending company conferences, trade shows, and major events.
  • Implement the brand guidelines online and ensure they are being applied in the right way in every digital campaign and channel.
  • Create promotions with advertising partners.
  • Collaborate with agencies and other vendor partners.

Essential Experience needed

· Minimum 2 years of experience working in digital marketing

· Demonstrable experience leading and managing SEO/SEM, marketing database, , social media and/or display advertising campaigns

· Excellent grasp on the motivations of Youth Travel within our sector (

· Proven methods on Customer Analysis linked to Product Development

· Great written communication skills in English

· Microsoft excel and an in-depth systems knowledge of common marketing platforms such as Hubspot, Social media, Google ads, analytics and Console

· Working knowledge of basic elements of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript development and constraints

· Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking

· Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in marketing and measurement thereof
