A key role in our business, managing our startup relations. Ideal for a confident and commercially minded individual who is a great communicator and loves all things entrepreneurship.
What the role involves
- Manage the experience for startups throughout their whole journey with us
- Evaluate startups, analyse pitch decks and conduct market research
- Deliver weekly reports on applications and evaluated companies
- Attend discovery calls alongside the director to support with assessing founding teams
- Liaise with founders, communicating our feedback and decisions along the way
- Curate monthly pitch events for our investor community
- Track activity of our portfolio companies, championing them and sharing updates
- Hold the relationships with the founders of our portfolio companies, connect them where required, and develop our existing startup support package
- Build connections with contacts in our ecosystem and nurture existing ones
- Attend and occasionally speak at local networking events
- Own and deliver our startup engagement strategy to raise awareness of our community across the South East
- Build relationships with local founders ensuring a strong and diverse pipeline of opportunities
- Act as an intermediary between founders and our investor community
- Constantly refine and improve our startup process
- Curate, plan, and deliver external startup events
Our ideal candidate
- You’re interested in startups, startup investment, and entrepreneurship
- You're scrappy and resourceful - you can figure things out, get things done and don't give up easily
- You're charismatic and able to develop rapport with any individual
- You are curious and like to ask ‘why’ questions
- You are an excellent communicator
- You can remain curious and humble in situations where you do not understand the subject matter, rather than letting your ego get in the way
- You’re a self-starter and love to work autonomously
- You are self-aware and can look introspectively when facing tough situations
- You enjoy self-development and are always learning
- You can be direct in your feedback whilst remaining empathetic
- You are tech-savvy and confident using modern SaaS tools such as Airtable, Mailchimp, Notion, Canva, and Event management software
