Join our Impact Team
We are looking for a UK-based recent graduate with an understanding of sustainability science (in particular carbon footprinting) and familiarity with interpretation and application of data models to join our growing Impact team. Our Carbon Impact Analyst will be supported by our UK-based Carbon Impact Manager, and report directly to our Head of Impact, located in New Zealand. Your work will focus on strengthening Cogo’s ‘Personal Carbon Model’ - a core element of Cogo’s science-based approach that helps power our personal products and solutions in multiple markets. Our model includes our approach to footprinting and reduction measurement, and helps simplify sustainability for individuals - enabling them to achieve more impact. As part of a small team you’ll have a large influence on enhancing the credibility of Cogo’s measurement and delivery of impact, and play a big part in supporting the future growth of Cogo. We are looking for a passionate recent graduate who is excited to join our mission driven team and help fight climate change!
Role Responsibilities
- Support the development and ongoing improvement of Cogo’s Carbon Models and Actions for individuals in our current active markets
- Investigate and respond to carbon data queries and issues raised by Cogo team members as well as external users and clients
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key Impact data partners and affiliates across our active markets
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to iteratively improve the quality and coverage of core sustainability data
Experience and Skills
- Understanding of carbon data and footprinting for households/individuals; desirable to have experience or understanding of consumption-based footprinting
- Understanding of how to leverage model outputs to meet applied requirements
- Understanding of key sustainability principles and how they apply to individuals, households, in order to provide solutions to real world problems, and quantify the impact
- Experience in working with and analysing environmental data for different audiences in order to affect change and create impact. Desirable to have understanding of approaches to carbon accounting and reporting
- Ability to quickly understand complex topics, and to communicate key concepts effectively to a broad and non-technical audience
- Awareness of ‘Environmentally Extended Input-Output’ (EEIO) Models is desirable, but not critical
- Ability to identify and synthesise key information to support models and content for climate action
What you bring to Cogo
- You are a proactive problem solver and bring excellent interpersonal and communication skills and are adept at building relationships with stakeholders across all levels of the organisation
- Strong academic background, and able to balance the inherent complexity of sustainability challenges, and the need to provide sufficient clarity and certainty of next steps to both internal and external stakeholders
- Comfortable working in multi-disciplinary teams and equally effective working in different environments (remote, office, etc)
- You have a high level of attention to detail, including a proven ability to manage multiple and competing priorities simultaneously
- Flexibility to commit to some meetings outside of normal working hours to engage effectively with our global team
- Have a pragmatic mindset, focused on understanding theory and encouraging others to take action
- Excellent business judgement, analytical, and decision-making skills
- Comfortable working in both technical and non-technical spaces
- Have a curious and self-starter mindset and seek to suggest improvements to our way of working as

The salary for this role is £31,900, plus benefits.
