Founders Factory, a global company builder and early-stage investor, and hubraum, the tech incubator of Deutsche Telekom, have recently launched a new venture studio based in Berlin. Our joint ambition is to digitalize the telco area by collaborating with and investing in founders around the globe.

Founders Factory offers founders capital, operational support from a team of 100 hands-on experts, and unrivalled access to industry leaders from across our corporate partners. Since 2015, Founders Factory's 300 portfolio companies - 80 built in the Studio -  have raised $720mm follow-on funding from notable investors, including NfX, Coatue, Forerunner, Tencent, Mubadala and firstminute Capital.

Project Quilt, an API-first MVNE, is one of the first opportunities we’re exploring through this partnership. Through this venture our ambition is to enable any company to offer branded mobile plans in a matter of days, not months.

We imagine a world where mobile connectivity is baked into products and services, embedded at point of sale. As a new distribution channel, this is a thread and opportunity for established telcos. By taking away all the complexities of building a branded MVNO, the vision is one where any brand or enterprise can develop their own personalised mobile experience.

💸 Our investment

In 6 months, we'll help you validate, build and launch an MVP. Under the Founders Factory umbrella, we’ll have dedicated budget for the first 6 months to pay yourself a salary as well as other operational costs Hands-on operational support from a team of smart and passionate people across design, engineering, product, growth marketing, talent, and more Once the MVP is launched, we'll incorporate your venture as an independent company and invest an initial €175K into your new business Unparalleled access to our partners and wider network (for life!) Financial & strategic ownership of the new venture.

We will actively outreach into unrepresented communities, we believe it is not a pipeline problem but an access/opportunity problem. We offer flexible working practices so that people with commitments can consider us. You will be assessed using a structured interview process with a clear scoring rubric. A €50k per annum founder salary is baked into our initial investment to help with the financial risk you’re undertaking. You will be asked to complete an optional, anonymous, aggregated survey related to yourself inline with the Equalities act 2010.
