Retail Operations Manager

Overview:

Piglet in Bed is looking for a retail industry expert to lead operationally as we prepare to launch with a handful of premium UK department stores and start laying the groundwork to launch our own stores towards the end of 2023. 

Responsibilities:

• Function as overall project manager for all new concession & store opening, ensuring that all relevant work streams are running on track and leading weekly update calls
• Lead on launch logistics for our new department store concessions, liaising with the designers, contractors and store management
• Once launched, maintaining the physical look of the concessions with an eye for visual merchandising 
• Working alongside our Head of Customer Happiness on recruitment, training and ongoing engagement with retail staff
• Create update and maintain the Company Handbook with store policies and procedures, as well as new staff training materials
• Working alongside our Head of Ops and Merchandiser to ensure stock is flowing into the stores in a timely manner and that we are optimising store productivity
• Set, review and analyse monthly operational KPIs relating to each store and concession to strategize areas to improve efficiency. Set yearly revenue and cost budgets, and manage and review these monthly with our CFO.
• Maximize the business potential of the store and sales in line with company strategy.
• Working with the CEO on developing strategy for Piglet in Bed’s own stores (strategising around locations, building relationships with landlords, working with the designers to fine tune store design for specific locations)
• Responsible for any ad-hoc projects in relation to our retail roll-out

Requirements:

• Extensive operational retail experience; preferably from within the luxury retail sector. We are an ecommerce first company and so we will rely on your experience when it comes to navigating the world of physical retail!
• Comprehensive understanding of premium retail experience and evolving shopper expectations
• Project management skills and the proven ability to multitask and prioritize in fast-paced environment
• High level of attention to detail, organization, and ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to take initiative and perform tasks in a self-sufficient manner with minimal oversight, consistently meeting goals and deadlines
• Strong interpersonal skills so as to liaise between multiple departments 
• Happy to travel around the country to visit the stores (50%) 
• Entrepreneurial spirit and excitement to play a pivotal role in shaping this new part of our business
