The role
Apolitical's online events up-skill public servants around the globe on topics such as policymaking, career development, and effectiveness in government. The Online Events Manager is an exciting role for an experienced Events Manager, with the opportunity to continue developing Apolitical Events into an innovative and effective social learning experiences.
- You will shape the strategy for best-in-class and innovative online events that successfully engage and grow Apolitical's global community of public servants and policymakers
- You will design and conduct regular user research to inform the approach to successful live event experiences
- You will define the key metrics that evaluate success of the events feature and monitor these to inform decision making
- You will identify opportunities and collaborate with Product teams to build innovative end-to-end event experiences
- You will develop and oversee delivery of a schedule of upcoming event topics, inclusive of exclusive events for premium course cohorts as well as free events for the wider Apolitical community
- You will collaborate with the Partnerships team to support the needs of Apolitical's strategic partners, attend partner meetings, design events to meet partner needs, and actively coordinate with external partners on event production
- You will establish best practice for the approach to event moderation, social learning and learner pedagogy
- You will oversee speaker outreach to bring together the best minds in government at Apolitical events
- You will oversee event promotion to maximise event enrolment and attendance
- You will manage email campaigns that maximise event enrolment, attendance, and cohort retention with oversight of email creation, performance monitoring, regular A/B testing, and optimisation
- You will collaborate with colleagues in Growth, Marketing, and Communications on the promotion of events through channels including SEO and on Apolitical’s social channels
- You will manage the workload and/or development of junior team members in their execution of day-to-day tasks supporting live events
Please note that, due to the nature of the work we do with global governments and partners, all employees are required to pass BPSS verification.
Requirements
You will have the following required skills:
- You will bring extensive experience in virtual event / webinar development, promotion and moderation
- You will possess strong project management skills and a great attention for detail
- You will possess strong written and verbal communication skills
- You will bring strong numeracy and data analysis skills
Experience in the following is desirable, but not required. Let us know if you have….
- Some prior experience with the public sector or government
- Some prior experience managing the work and professional development others
- Some prior experience working within tech companies, startups, or product teams
- Some prior experience in the online learning or e-learning sector
