Do you love working in a business full of intelligent, talented, innovative and friendly people?

How about working for a company that creates meaningful events and memories that last a lifetime?

And finally...what about working as Development Team Lead and playing a defining part in our business as we push forward to our next growth phase?

Then maybe we should talk!

We are looking for a Development Team Lead to oversee our Supply Squad. It is a really exciting time to join as we are about to undergo another growth spurt in the new year, and you’ll oversee some fascinating changes.

What You Will Be Doing

- You'll manage a small product squad of 3 - 4 developers with the support of the CTO to make sure the team has everything they need to deliver sprints.

- We have some challenging and thrilling projects to deliver next year. Onboarding new vendors, an international launch, refactoring existing services and building new significant features for our marketplace platform.

- You will be a key contributor in helping the platform team and product squads evolve to have tighter remits and a clearer view and control of their delivery pipelines.

- There are loads of decisions to make, lots of process optimisations, and lots of prep work to do for next year. There’s plenty of greenfield work, plenty of tech debt, plenty to get your hands dirty with

-This role will report directly to our CTO to ensure our technology is supporting and leading in everything we do. This person will be a technical and product evangelist within the wider team and will work to develop a best in class product and contribute to technical strategy.

What's In It For You?

- We think you will like our engineering culture. It is one of pace, ownership and safety. Our processes and tech stack ensure our Devs can recover quickly, learn and adapt when things break or fail.

- Progression. We want you to grow, develop with us and achieve the next milestone in your career

- Flexibility. If you want to work 100% remotely, that's cool. If you want to come and visit our offices, then great! But it's down to you.

- The opportunity to work in a business that is twice the size it was last year is continuing to grow. You will play a massive part in our future and growth.

We’re looking for someone who can design technology and processes that will allow people to move quickly but facilitate growth. We avoid over or under-engineering where possible, and you’ll lead the team to do the same.

You are highly autonomous; you take ownership of problems and find solutions or delegate problems effectively.

You have plenty of experience building and implementing large-scale systems across various projects.

  • Comfortable designing RESTful APIs and working with FE team members to develop solutions
  • Have experience with React (React hooks, Context API, Suspense) in a professional setting
  • Have good knowledge of testing practises, and can test a module with unit tests efficiently

Excellent technical communication skills - you can explain highly technical concepts to the broader business.

You are comfortable presenting our department’s progress to senior management.

You keep relevant parties up to date on the progress of projects and any blockers, and you ensure that the wider team are doing the same.

We use the following Tools and Technologies:
