This role is based in the Careers and Student Enterprise Service which is the career, employability and enterprise nucleus of the University of East London.
The goal of the service is to support every student to achieve career success, gain the skills for the 21st century workforce, and build direct pathways to employment. The service’s mindset has innovation and creativity at its core. In order to improve progression, retention and graduate outcomes, the service utilises innovative careers tools and resources, which has shown impact on our students’ satisfaction, behaviour and outcomes. This is a one-of-a-kind department with highly motivated staff providing a quality service to students and alumni.
The Marketing and Communications Manager is an exciting new role who will oversee the Careers and Enterprise portfolio delivering on a strategic plan to support us in achieving our Careers-1st vision. This role is uniquely placed within the frontline service to enable the postholder to work collaboratively with operational staff and will benefit from genuine insights into our pioneering work and lead us in transforming this into exciting and engaging internal and external communications.
This collaborative role will be expected to work holistically across our wide range of audiences and create communications tailored to students, staff, industry and wider external stakeholders and, therefore, will have the opportunity to create 360' impact in raising awareness and engagement with our services. As well as being responsible for our day-to-day communications, this role will be at the forefront of some exciting cross stakeholder campaigns promoting our pioneering ‘Diversity of Thought’ programme, onboarding local SMEs with our innovative ‘Freelancing Platform,’ marketing degree apprenticeships and curating the vision for our new ‘Royal Docks Centre for Sustainable Enterprise.’
