Senior Localisation Manager - 6 month Fixed Term Contract (FTC)

What does the Localisation team do at Busuu?

We localise all of Busuu’s content, from our language courses and app/website copy to marketing and B2B materials. It is our responsibility to make sure all content is compelling, consistent, respectful and tailored to markets and cultures around the world.

We manage a team of over 60 localisation experts who translate, transcreate, localise and test our content in 14 languages.

What will a Senior Localisation Manager do at Busuu?

• Manage and constantly look to improve the Product localisation process
• Manage all Product localisation requests
• Manage glossary and TM
• Manage regular QA / UX flow checks
• Manage relationships with Product stakeholders
• Provide briefs and linguist support for UX transcreation
• Test localised screens
• Host webinars and workshops for freelancer team and promote up-skilling
• Create documentation to facilitate knowledge sharing

What we’re looking for in a Senior Localisation Manager:

Experience

• Extensive experience in website / app localisation
• Experience working with UX writing and transcreation
• Extensive experience with QA of localised copy, e.g. with emulators
• Proven track record of project leadership / improving internal processes
• Experience overseeing implementation of automation through app connectors
• Experience implementing new interface languages and creating style guides and assets
• Language skills / management experience an asset

Skills / interests

• Knowledge of pluralisation rules and experience with ICU
• Knowledge of XTM integrations (git connector, figma etc.) and LQA feature
• Excellent skills in stakeholder management
• Ability to back up decisions with data
• Good knowledge of global languages and localisation trends
