BeZero Carbon is a ratings agency for the voluntary carbon market. Combining expertise across climate science, finance and policy, it provides ratings, risk and data tools that improve information accessibility and decision making. Our aim is to build markets for environmental impact.
Founded in 2020, our team has grown rapidly, attracting people from academia, financial services, technology, engineering and policy to come together to build a new kind of information business for a low carbon economy. Our head office is in London, and our people work from five continents.
We have recently completed a Series B investment round to help accelerate the net zero transition through carbon ratings, and are building the team to deliver that.
Job Description:
We are looking for a Ratings Editor. This pivotal role connects our ratings analysis with our customers and users. They will sit in our marketing and editorial team, working closely day to day with our ratings team of carbon ratings analysts.
The role itself will involve:
Maintaining and improving written editorial standards of our ratings analysis
Identifying key pieces of analysis and the conclusions our Carbon Ratings team are drawing, subsequently ensuring clear and effective communication to customers (who often are unfamiliar with Carbon Credits)
Copy editing, proofreading, amendments and line-editing of communications
Partnering closely with the Ratings team to ensure the development of clear and accurate writing. This will include:
Attending Rating Committee sessions, where experts and analysts debate and assign ratings
Building an understanding of the project that’s being rated
Building a dialogue with Analysts to understand their work
Management of marketing collateral (decks, externally & internally facing communications) to ensure it matches our platform and style
- Business Partner to the wider Marketing team & BeZero business areas.
Stakeholders will include; CMO, Head of Product Marketing, Head of Digital Marketing, Research team & Interaction with the C-Level Ratings Committee to understand thought process behind Ratings Decisions
Continuous monitoring and updating of analysis from early launch

You are comfortable editing scientific and technical text
You have first-rate communication and relationship management skills, with experience using these with stakeholders from various backgrounds
You are highly analytical and attentive to detail
