Launched in 2019, Taptap is tapping into a transformative shift in global finance: from banks to phones. The Role
We’re seeking a seasoned compliance officer with 5+ years of experience for our UAE business, which will be a DFSA-regulated money services provider from which we service our UAE customers. The role is full-time and based in Dubai. The Head of UAE Compliance (CO/MLRO), will be responsible for overseeing the compliance and reporting program for Taptap Send’s UAE business in line with the requirements of the DFSA and our partners.
Your responsibilities will include:
Maintaining our regulatory licence in the UAE once granted Building trust and liaising with the DFSA and other stakeholders Managing and coordinating regulatory reporting for our UAE business, responding to information requests and proactively communicating product changes and other important events to relevant external parties Leading the preparation of internal compliance reports to management and the board Owning our regulatory compliance documentation, policies and procedures as they relate to our UAE business Developing systems to track and monitor our compliance with both our internal policies and regulatory requirements Training our customer service, product and management teams on regulatory requirements and how processes and actions of employees contribute to fulfilling those requirements Continuously improving systems and processes to monitor our regulatory risk, compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies Scrutinising and testing our compliance programs and overseeing resolution of any issues Representing UAE compliance at board meetings and risk committees Working closely with 3rd line auditors to improve our compliance program and controls Ensuring timely reporting of all suspicious activity to the regulator Overseeing the due diligence of new partners, new customers and new productsYou have:
An in-depth understanding of UAE AML/CFT legislation and regulations 5+ years of experience in a regulated financial institution in a compliance or compliance-related role, with strong preference for someone with a background in international remittances or FX Experience using technology to solve compliance issues (transaction monitoring, sanction screening, etc) Attention to detail while still seeing the bigger picture The ability to help create and foster an effective compliance culture The willingness to solve problems and build systems, sometimes from scratch Good communication skills and the ability to express opinions and concerns clearly ACAMS, ICA or a similar qualification Willingness to relocate, live and work in the UAEBenefits (UAE)
