Operations Manager

We are one of West Africa’s fastest growing impact tech businesses. We’re looking for a talented and highly motivated Operations Manager to join us full time in our Accra based HQ to help our company continue to scale whilst maintaining exceptional client service, and optimum career outcomes for our team.

This means working directly with the exec team and HR function to develop a culture of operational excellence, designing and deploying leading edge processes from scratch in an industry with no rulebook (yet), ensuring successful delivery of our projects, and managing a team of 100+ reports.

2)   The AI market is growing exponentially, and many parts of the AI value chain can be best served from developing nations where the need for stable jobs is higher

 3)   AI is transforming the world, but at different rates. The vast majority of AI research is focussed on issues in developed nations, threatening to leave the developing world further behind

1)   Create rewarding, full time, well paid, tech focussed jobs in Africa, building industry capability and retaining top talent that otherwise moves abroad

2)   Become a global leader in the AI Services market covering the core of the AI value chain: data collection, data processing and AI modelling and deployment, whilst never compromising on point 1

Progress so far

In 18 months of operation we have:

- Grown our headcount to 110+

- Delivered 50+ complex projects, saving 85k hours for our clients, with teams working across 4 continents

- Sent our first cohorts for data science training with Blossom Academy

- Built a data science team from scratch and deployed our first commercial Computer Vision model (ask us about drones and agriculture)

- Launched internships with 5 Universities in Ghana

- Built out a comprehensive medical data annotation practice with Ghana's leading hospitals as partners

Your Mission

What you'll be working on

• Project Delivery: Accountable for leading the ops function to successfully deliver projects to international client base
• Process Excellence: Lead on design, implementation, and continuous improvement of operational processes
• Reporting and Data: Oversee data, analytics and reporting function, delivering insights on ops and other functions to the exec team
• Resource and Team Planning: Oversee resource planning for projects and for delivery function
• Training: Collaborate with L&D function to implement comprehensive structured and unstructured training programmes to upskill employees
• Infrastructure: Oversee infrastructure to ensure the smooth running of operations at the company
• Grow a world-class Ops team: Bring your management skill set to the table and create a high performing Ops team

Your Skills and Experience

• 3+ years ops experience ideally in a high-growth environment
• Ability and desire to work in an extremely diverse and cross-cultural environment
• Excellent understanding of process and delivery systems
• Fascination with Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence, and the way they are impacting the world
• Analytical mindset and excellent communication and organisational skills
• Highly motivated, strong work ethic and competitive
• Passion for helping people, digital products and a hunger to learn about driving change in organisations
• You are a self-starter who thrives on autonomy, enjoys a rapid pace and wants to make a difference
