About us

bloomon is turning the flower industry on its head – for the better. How? By disrupting the traditional supply chain, where most florists operate offline and have done for decades. bloomon creates seasonal collections using unusual stems to deliver unique flower arrangements on repeat or as a unique gift. We always use field-fresh high-quality flowers straight from the grower and deliver them to our customers through a high-tech and highly creative platform.

We launched in Amsterdam in 2014 and went from start-up to scale-up at hypersonic speed. In 2021 we joined forces with Bloom & Wild, the UK's fastest growing ecommerce company (according to the Financial Times).  Driven by our vision of creating the destination for making life a little more thoughtful and beautiful, we're now part of Europe's leading online flower company.

Our group is backed by top tier investors including General Catalyst (backers of Airbnb and Deliveroo), who led our £75 million Series D funding round in January 2021, alongside Index Ventures (investors in Wise and Glossier). We are home to a family of 3 strong brands, Bloom & Wild, bloomon and Bergamotte. Together, we are active in 8 countries.

We really care about creating a diverse and inclusive team and we welcome people from all backgrounds, with different perspectives, ideas and experiences to work with us. In our team, everyone has the freedom to give their opinion, grow in their career and be part of a genuinely caring and inclusive team.

Flowers Team at bloomon

We are the experts on all things floral!  Every week, we create beautiful bouquets to make our customers happy.  We work on the designs, and with our growers to make sure our bouquets are extra special, are delivered on time, at the best price and within our CO2 targets.

How? With, our close knit team of designers, buyers, bouquet co-ordinators, flower stylists, quality controllers, and supply chain planners who bring together creative flair and data-driven decision making.

Sustainability

Flowers are an essential part of our natural ecosystem and bring positivity to our lives. But floriculture and unsold bouquets pose sustainability challenges.  This is why we’re always looking for innovative and smart ways to reduce our impact. Together with our growers, we work on sustainable alternatives that produce strong and healthy flowers. Bouquet Coordinators work with our Stylists to include these alternative options, and therefore play an important role in enabling sustainability at bloomon.

The role and ways of working

Working alongside our Designers and Stylists, Bouquet Coordinators are responsible for translating the creative process into a purchasing request for our Supply Chain team, who is in turn responsible for ensuring we have the best quality flowers, in the right place and at the right time.  You’ll work across all of our brands and with many different types of flowers, including dried.

Responsibilities include:

- Communications between design and buying teams.

You steer the process in the right direction. You’ll  receive a design ± 15 weeks before it goes into production, and in collaboration with a stylist, you’ll ensure the bouquet meets the design criteria and remains within budget. You’ll work closely with the purchasing team to ensure we’re able to produce the intended design.

- Ensuring bouquets meet all predetermined standards, which may include:

Budgets - financial and climate related, design criteria, ingredients etc

Our sustainability strategy - including the right and most sustainable ingredients in our bouquets is very important. We know the environmental impact of every flower and have sustainability targets for each bouquet.

Design principles - you check whether a bouquet has been composed according to all design principles, you signal where this is not the case and you give suggestions on how to resolve.

- Ownership of timelines and keeping Designers/Stylists and our Purchasing team aligned

Together with our Planning and Forecasting department, you ensure every bouquet is available at the right time and on the right day, and that we only purchase what we need for our customers.

- Collaborate with stakeholders at every stage to achieve our sustainability objectives.

- Accurate administration of bouquets in the purchasing system, and management of  associated product specifications and characteristics that are important for delivering the freshest and most beautiful flowers.
