// Role: Communications Manager

Reports to: Communications Director

Location: Remote/London (expected to come to office at least three times a month.)

Founded in 2017, Super League Triathlon is the pinnacle of the sport on the world’s stage, delivering game-changing formats in a series of fast-paced events with unpredictable outcomes that culminate in the crowning of the best and most versatile male and female triathletes in the world.

Over the course of the season, the top male and female triathletes from around the world battle it out to be crowned the best all-around triathlete. We hold two key series during any season, Arena Games Triathlon, a blended in real life and virtual race, and our coveted Championship Series.

// The Role

Super League Triathlon is looking for a Communications Manager to help drive our rapidly expanding media footprint by devising and implementing industry leading communications strategies for local and global audiences. You will be part of a forward thinking and progressive marketing team who are driven by a passion to turn triathlon into a spectator sport and will be given the freedom and opportunity to run with ideas and contribute to wider creative discussions.

// Key Responsibilities

  • Create and execute proactive and reactive communication strategies for both local and global audiences
  • Develop relationships with endemic and non-endemic media and help secure further coverage of SLT
  • Assist in managing agency relationships and accreditation procedures to ensure maximum media reach in host countries
  • Play a key role in Super League’s broadcaster marketing efforts
  • Generate ideas and produce written content for Super League Triathlon’s website
  • Create written content to help support our stakeholders and broadcast partners, including creation of media packs, and support wider marketing efforts
  • Work with the marketing department to drive awareness, engagement and participation for our events around the world
  • Media monitoring and metrics reporting
  • Identifying trends and implementing into our content strategy
  • Producing compelling coverage from race weekends and distributing to media

// Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven experience working in a demanding communications environment. Experience in sport is a major plus
  • Able to demonstrate expanding media footprints and developing relationships to generate coverage
  • A strong network of media contacts. Of particular interest is key markets of the UK, Germany, France and USA
  • Ability to write clean and engaging copy
  • WordPress and/or content design skills is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English. Proficiency in French or German is a plus

  • Adaptable to the changing nature of a dynamic and nimble sport’s rights holder
  • Willing to work on weekends and with other timezones
  • Resilient and adaptable, able to be organised and work efficiently in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
  • Creative and fun, with a good sense of humour 
  • Passion for sport
