Job description
Responsible for supporting the SPS Global Technical Managers (GTM) with activities related to field trial planning including sample logistics, 3rd party contracting and invoicing platforms, and budgeting and tracking spend.
Accountabilities
- Managing team activities related to field trial planning and placement including communication among internal and external parties
- Serve as the central point of information for the global R&D team/GTM’s to improve efficiency of the R&D scientists by providing guidance for processes and systems (e.g., Concur, iTravel, WorkDay)
- Supporting the GTM’s to ensure appropriate permits, request forms, and procedures are in place while engaging with Syngenta’s sample logistics team across the organisation
- Setting up vendors in Ariba, purchasing requests and purchase orders as needed
- Aid onboarding of new team members regarding operational tools and systems
- Ensure the Global SPS R&D Sharepoints (total of 3) are maintained and encourage regional engagement of our knowledge management tools
- Organize and manage event planning (travel, logistics, schedules) for key technical meetings including SPEED
- Serve as “Secretary of the Syngenta/IVCC Steering Committee” including scheduling, agenda drafting, recording of minutes, and followup communications among subteams
Critical Knowledge & Experience
- Strong organizational skills and superior attention to detail
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities and work independently and autonomously without direct supervision
- Understanding of organizational structures, processes and procedures
- Excellent interpersonal skills, effective communicator (speaking and listening). Ability to be discreet with confidential information
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools including Sharepoint and other software applications, particularly spreadsheet development, ideally knowledge of systems such as Ariba, Concur and WorkDay
Qualifications
- BA/BS or Associate degree with experience in business administration to include applied use of computers, personnel administration, conferencing and communications is desirable
