Launched in 2019, Taptap is tapping into a transformative shift in global finance: from banks to phones. While this has affected wealthier countries as well, it has been nothing short of a revolution for the emerging markets where the overwhelming majority of population had been unable to access digital finance previously.  Its first product, Taptap Send, allows immigrants to send money home instantly and with no fee, saving money in the process. The Role

They will work with the Financial Controller to scale our finance function with insight and intuition. They will help to implement efficient and scalable financial processes and systems, manage financial and management reporting with a keen eye, and collaborate with other members of the Finance Controllership team on daily operations with precision and clarity.

Taking ownership of parts of their growing function and lay the groundwork for global scaling and future potential Exit/IPO.  This is a crucial role for them as they continue to grow at a triple digit rate over the coming years. It’s wide ranging, they’re a financial company so the finance team sits at the heart of what they do.

You will be responsible for a variety of financial and management reporting tasks as well as financial analysis, process improvement, operational partnering and technology solutions implementations. They are a high-volume transactions business so you will someone who can pivot quickly and change workstreams as the business dictates.

This is also an opportunity to assist on highly value-adding projects such as upgrading our financial software and improving our accounting team in-house. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, passionate about accounting and enthusiastic to work within a fast-paced, impact-driven start-up that is constantly expanding into new markets.

Responsibilities

Process Improvement: Streamlining processes and developing new accounting policies and processes, is essential for Taptap’s growth. This will help ensure compliance, timely and accurate delivery, and smooth financial operations. The Finance Manager's role is key in this, supported by the Financial Controller. Projects: As we scale and build TapTap, the Finance Manager will be a key member of the team, supporting the Financial Controller and leading initiatives. For example, this role could involve assisting with audits or playing a key role in our migration to NetSuite. Partnering: Bring commercial acumen to the function, partner operationally to help profitability. Day to day accounting: Manage day-to-day accounting operations, making sure month end, financial accounts, audit and stats are looked after.  Work with the wider team to complete daily bank reconciliations. Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements. Provide financial information required for VAT returns, Collaborate closely with auditors.

Who we're looking for

A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA, CA or equivalent in a European country) with several years PQE experience in a similar role. Prior experience working in a high volume transaction business. Prior experience operating within UK or EU regulated financial services companies with complex cross-border structures with an understanding of relevant accounting standards.[mb1]  Strong analytical and technical finance skills, including Excel, Google Sheets, NetSuite Ability to maintain high levels of attention to detail whilst working efficiently. A great communicator, who feels comfortable speaking with key stakeholders at various levels, including external advisors / accountants / auditors / banks / operational leaders.

Nice to have

Experience in ERP Migration (ideally NetSuite) Start-up / scale-up experience
