The role:
We are seeking an experienced Head of Content and Creative to lead content strategy and production across Friends of the Earth. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about the environment and nature recovery to lead production of content that inspires people to hope and action.
Leading a team of writers, editors, designers, and video producers, you will oversee the production of content that tells an engaging story of climate justice and regenerating nature. You will be able to put the passion and work of communities at the heart of our story to reach a wider audience, inspire others and change politics.
You will be joining the organisation at a key time, as we champion storytelling within Friends of the Earth and beyond by building facilitative relationships and processes that enable effective identification, collection, creation and curation of content centred on climate justice and regenerating nature – highlighting and building support for the solutions that work for all, not the few.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in shaping narratives and public dialogue around environmental justice in a decade when radical action on the climate and ecological crises must happen.
Key Skills and Attributes:
You will be an exceptional communicator, ideally with experience of communications and creative development in a mission-led organisation. You will have a real passion for the environment and natural world and a genuine desire to share and amplify innovations and solutions that work for people and planet.
You must be able to demonstrate:
• A genuine curiosity and interest in people and community action
• Experience of leading creative teams and content creators
• Excellent project management skills
• Experience with creating compelling messages for different target demographics
• Strong understanding of what makes good content for different audiences / channels
• Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders
The team:
This role sits within the engagement directorate and reports to the Director of Engagement. Under the direction of new organisational and Brand and Audience strategies, the directorate leads the development and delivery of communications strategies that celebrate grassroots action and drive widespread engagement and participation with our mission and the climate justice movement.
Closing date: 21st March 2023
We offer a competitive range of benefits, good work/life balance, excellent learning and development opportunities and a vibrant organisational culture.
