Born Social is a global social media agency that brings social-first thinking to the brands of tomorrow.

For the last 10 years, we’ve helped brands navigate and harness the chaos of social. From household names like Guinness, Dettol and Primark to the next generation of big brands like Nando's, Fever-Tree and Uber.

We're an ambitious team of 100 people in London, Paris, Madrid, Lisbon and Berlin and we’re just getting started. We're growing well and looking for a new Head of Design & Studio to take over the leadership of our talented Design & Studio Department.

Born Social's Creative Team

We’re building the best social-first creative team in the world. Our entire Creative department is made up of ~30 of the most talented social-first thinkers in the industry. The department is divided into 3 sub teams that come together to give you everything you need to make brilliant social-first work.

  Concept: Our Concept team is made up of Creative Strategists and Creative Leads and is dedicated to setting long term creative direction as well as conceiving best in class creative campaigns. They work closely with Strategists to make sure all thinking is solving business problems, and oversee creative production to make sure it aligns with our vision for the brand.
  
• 
  Studio: Our Studio team is made up of Photographers and Videographers and is dedicated to shooting best-in-class still and video assets. Whether it’s in our studio space or on set, they create high end and low-fi creative inspired by human insights and always crafted to the context of the platforms.
  
• 
  Design: Our Design team is made up of Graphic and Motion Designers and is dedicated to making truly thumb stopping and dynamic social assets. They bring together incredible technical knowledge with a deep understanding of platform best practice to make sure our brands stop and sustain attention.
  

In each discipline we have a depth of experience, ranging across Junior, Mid Weight, Senior to Director level. Regardless of technical skill, one thing everyone has in common is an unwavering passion, if not obsession with social. We get social culture and we pepper it into every single thing we make, big or small.

The Head of Design & Studio leads the Design and Studio sub-teams ~20 people in total.

Head of Design & Studio

As Head of Design & Studio you are set the vision for what this team of 'makers' looks like. It’s a large team so your day to day is spent creating team culture, developing people, improving craft, problem solving and strategy planning. You will form part of the Heads of Team who collaborate closely to grow Born Social’s capability and achieve our business goals. 

Your experience means you recognise great social talent, are an inspiring creative leader, a clear communicator and capable of creating change quickly.

✏️ What you'll be doing:

• 
  Department Strategy: Working with Executive Creative Director and Creative Directors to set and deliver our shared Creative team vision. Working to turn this vision into a strategy that impacts hiring, skill development, creative delivery and revenue for the Design & Studio team.

• 
  Department Performance: Ensuring that we have a happy and high performing team through inclusive culture, quality hiring, training & development, organised ways of working and of course, ambition for making innovative social-first work!

• 
  People Leadership: Leading our Associate Directors in Design & Studio, ensuring they are performing and developing well and thriving both as individuals and as a team as well as the hiring and growth of their departments.
  
• 
  Creative Delivery: Working directly into some of our most challenging brands and briefs, responsible for orchestration and oversight of creative production. Using your extensive knowledge of creative and impeccable eye for detail to act as a central pillar between creatives and clients.
  
• 
  Reporting & Feedback: Working with the Leadership Team and Heads of Team to report on strategy, commercials, work and culture.
  
• 
  Growing The Business: Working closely with our Executive Creative Director and other Heads of Department, to deliver on business goals and strategy relating to creative and production.
  

👀 Who we're looking for:

• 
  
• Agency experience - working in or with agencies so are familiar with the creative and delivery challenges you will face in this role.
  
• Passion for social media - through working directly in the industry or through your own projects outside of work.
  
• Design expertise - you have experience in graphic and motion design and feel confident making Born’s better in every way.
  
• Creative confidence - you have experience within a Creative team and are capable of coming up with ideas and getting great creative work made.
  
• Leadership - the ability to inspire, motivate and grow the members of your team and a brilliant communicator.
  
• High standards - you take pride in your work, have an impeccable eye for detail and you’re confident giving critical yet constructive feedback to set standards and develop those around you.
  
• Commercial awareness - experience with budget management and the ability to make commercially-smart decisions.
  
• A champion of change - you are excited by change in social media, the agency world and Born Social.
