Course outline
The CFGdegree runs over 16 weeks, four evenings a week (Monday - Thursday, including two breaks) delivering study modules in multiple stages. In the first 9 weeks, the students will be doing the foundation level taught through online classes and practical workshops. Upon successful completion of the foundation course, the students will move to their specialisation subject (Software Engineering, Data, Full Stack Development or Product Management). The course also assumes a number of independent work assignments in the form of homework and assessments that will be marked by the tutors and a practical project completed in the last three weeks of the CFGdegree.
The +Masters programme is designed to be an extension after the end of the full CFGdegree programme. The +Masters will run over four weeks delivering study modules in five different areas: DevOps & Cloud, Mobile App Development, Data Analysis, Cyber Security and AI & ML. Candidates must have a CFGdegree certification (or equivalent level) or have been in a relevant tech role in order to do the +Masters.
What we’re offering
The initial engagement will be a freelance contract for the creation (and potential delivery if that’s of interest!) of specific CFGdegree and/or +Masters content. You’d be joining the CFG team on a professional freelance basis, helping to shape our CFGdegree and +Masters programme, focused on delivering great products that can help our students make the jump into their first technical role.
What we’re looking for
We will be recruiting a number of content creators to develop CFGdegree and +Masters content in specific subjects listed below. There will be an element of freedom and creativity while meeting the CFG requirements outlined by the team. CFGdegree and +Masters subjects, for which we are currently recruiting content creators, are listed below. Please note, you can develop content for more than one subject (if you have the relevant technical skills, knowledge and experience):
- +Masters
- Cyber Security
- Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning
General Requirements
- A UK/IE-based developer with 2+ years of experience minimum in a professional setting
- Strong technical skills (we’ve not specified here as this will depend on which subject content you would like to create)
- Experience creating content (this can be formal or informal, for example, you have created tech or coding course content through work or other EdTech providers, or you have voluntarily created content for informal mentoring/tutoring at work. These are just examples, however, and we encourage you to apply no matter how formal/informal your experiences are!)
- Passion for teaching, training or mentoring
‘Good to have’ requirements
- Strong presentation skills and an understanding of learner communities
- Ability to work with a group and collaborate (we are open to pairing or grouping content creators to work on the same content so collaboration could be required)
- Previous teaching experience (e.g. CFG courses)
- Previous mentoring experience
- Previous experience creating content for/delivering courses or technical workshops
Roles and responsibilities
As a content creator, you will:
- Be responsible for ensuring that all relevant materials are created and shared with the CFG team by set deadlines
- Create course slides (delivered as Google slides to the pre-agreed CFG template and format)
- Create homework, assessments and project briefs, and accompanying marking schemes as required
- Create student and instructor guides for the course (delivered as a Google document to the pre-agreed template and format) as required
- Conduct one-two demo classes using the newly created content (virtually) to the CFG team
