Summary

Glean is seeking an IT support specialist to join the small but growing IT team. This role provides the perfect opportunity for an experienced IT professional to expand their skills and take ownership of systems, processes, and projects in a cutting edge technology company passionate about impacting the lives of learners.

Purpose

The IT Support Specialist is a go-to leader within the IT team. Providing exceptional service to Glean staff, promoting best practices across a number of areas including; communication, collaboration, and information security, and maintaining the IT infrastructure that allows Glean to grow and achieve its mission of impacting more than a million people’s learning outcomes.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to; 

  • Maintaining Glean’s cloud IT infrastructure
  • Setting up, maintaining, and troubleshooting macOS and Windows devices
  • Maintaining Google Meet hardware, and specialist events equipment 
  • Providing helpdesk support to Glean staff in person and remotely
  • Own the onboarding of new hires to Glean from account creation and hardware purchase, through to welcome calls
  • Executing the IT vision and strategy laid out by the Head of IT and InfoSec
  • Proactively identifying areas for improvement, then planning and implementing them
  • Running multiple concurrent IT projects of various scales
  • Leading IT operations automation efforts
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of information security at Glean
  • Ownership of licence management and vendor relationships
  • Supporting in person events hosted in Glean offices, ensuring audio and video equipment functions correctly
  • Create and deliver training materials in both written and video form as well as conducting training sessions in person and remotely

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • Experience with managing accounts via Google Workspace is a must
  • Extensive experience in delivering first class IT helpdesk support both in person and remotely
  • Excellent knowledge of using and administering SaaS software such as; Jira, Confluence, Slack, and Lucid
  • Excellent knowledge of remote management tools such as Jamf, and Intune
  • Extensive knowledge of macOS and Windows
  • Experience running multiple projects
  • Ability to quickly form positive relationships with others
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Excellent problem solving skills, able to develop unique solutions
  • A desire to learn and impart knowledge
  • Confident in creating and delivering training materials for staff
  • Positive attitude and ability to maintain composure under pressure

Desirable 

  • Experience in using API’s 
  • Experience managing and maintaining Linux workstations
  • Experience in scripting languages for automation such as bash, javascript, and python
  • Experience in vendor management such as reviews, and renewals
  • Experience in configuring and deploying SAML/SSO integrations to SaaS applications

Salary

£30,000 - £36,000 DOE
