Stationery Designer

Alongside our in-house collections, we collaborate with bright, up-and-coming artists, iconic brands and exciting fashion labels. They're all fellow paper people whose varied creative talents bring a magical touch to our stationery. As one of our Stationery Designers, you will be a key member of this design process by designing and conceptualising inspirational and trend-setting stationery that fulfils the overall creative vision.

You will report to one of our Senior Stationery Designers, taking ownership of designated tasks and working collaboratively with the wider design team to complete trend-setting and constantly evolving design projects that will push the brand forward. You will have strong design skills in illustration, typography and graphic design and will use your initiative to stay on top of current and future trends, contributing significantly to Papier's growth as a global lifestyle brand.

What you'll do:

● Create trend-setting, aspirational designs through the excellent execution of multiple simultaneous design projects.

● Present design ideas and outcomes cross-functionally with confidence and clarity, conveying complex design thinking in a way that leads to increased engagement and generates excitement.

● Utilise strong skills in illustration, graphic design and print composition; translating these into trend-setting product design ideas.

● Actively manage your own schedule consisting of multiple simultaneous projects to ensure that all key deadlines are met. Proactively plan and prepare for a project's next steps.

● Keep all stakeholders informed about a project’s progress, preparing any necessary design information to be shared with them at key stages.

● Have a great understanding of business and design sales performance and utilise this to deliver commercial yet inspiring designs that meet or exceed project goals.

● Support with setting and maintaining standards for quality, including correct uploading, file naming, artwork set up and exporting.

● Have a good understanding of the printing industry and processes, proactively develop your own understanding and knowledge of this area to gain awareness of paper possibilities and restrictions, and work with printers and colleagues where necessary to expand knowledge of new technology and techniques.

Requirements

● Proven track record of illustration skills or producing design-led stationery products, with a strong portfolio to support

● Proficient Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign skills

● A strong interest and understanding in print & stationery design with a knowledge of paper stock, print techniques and print production

● Attention to detail with excellent typography, illustration & layout skills

● An understanding and track record of excellent execution of preparing artwork for print and web

● Detail-oriented & organised with good time management skills and the ability to manage your own schedule.

● Self-motivated, with the ability to work as part of a team as well as individually

● The ability to work at pace and previous experience of delivering consistent designs in a fast paced environment

● Flexibility and willingness to react quickly to changing demands of the business
