We are looking for a Senior Brand Innovation Manager in Colour to join our New Product Development and Innovation team. This role will report into the Head of Colour Brand Innovation to shape the Colour Cosmetics category strategy and be responsible for the creation, briefing and development of Gold and Silver launches that perform at the highest quality and efficacy standards. Working closely with our Marketing teams, this role will ensure that the benefits are communicated clearly and in an engaging way to the consumer. You will also oversee the coaching and development of junior team members.

The Role

Your key responsibilities are: _Product Innovation/Concept Development: _ Working with the founder, CIO and Head of Colour Brand Innovation to build the colour product innovation strategy and long-term NPD pipeline that reflects the brand vision, mission, goals and values Driving the ideation, concept creation, briefs, artwork & product story development, toolboxes, training materials & business reports and ensure the cross-functional input from key Identifying opportunities for improvement for existing products (EPD) Leading the ideation on your projects, with emphasis on high quality, innovative concepts and creation of ‘legacy’ products that fit in line with our business and marketing strategies and brand values, ensuring the needs of the founder, key stakeholders and consumer are met Managing Gold and Silver product launches from an Innovation perspective. Support and coach any direct report to manage Bronze product launches, ensuring successful and timely management of projects, within budget, in line with yearly forecast providing weekly updates, risk assessments and buy-in from your key stakeholders on all decisions Briefing the Designer and Head of Packaging Innovation and co-developing the product design and artwork for primary & secondary packaging - always including competitor analysis. Ensuring the development of the formula and pack is as per the brief. Includes approval of the final prototype at gate 2, working closely with your team, project managers, technical, packaging, and procurement teams to develop the prototype Developing and building, with technical functions, strong product claims that can be communicated on all your projects Working closely with the technical, packaging and quality teams to set quality standards for formula and packaging, and approving the ongoing shades and bulk manufacture.

_Data Analysis & Commercials: _ Developing commercial rationale and scoping out the size of the opportunity for new concepts. Monitoring internal sales data for colour skus. Conducting market & competitor analysis to help develop strong product concepts, including attending relevant trade shows and taking inspiration trips. Preparing business cases for each project gate, working closely with Procurement and Finance to get agreement from key stakeholders.

_Marketing/Product Communication: _ Creating toolboxes, working closely with the Marketing Team to ensure messaging is consistent and that all teams have the correct information in order to launch the product successfully. Supporting the delivery of creative, engaging and on-brand product assets by working closely with the Product Marketing & Design Team and attending relevant shoots. Match2Me - working closely with the MUA to ensure that every product developed is included correctly into the appropriate Match2Me profiles.

Team Management

Responsible for 1 direct report - supporting & mentoring your direct report including weekly 121s, establishing clear development plans and ensuring that they are engaged and encouraged to have a voice Fostering a positive & supportive team culture - including team building, training and development

Requirements

The essential skills and experience required to succeed in this role are:

Previous experience within the beauty industry in colour product development Management experience required Ability to inspire & influence the Colour Team & teams across the business Excellent organisational and communication skills Strong interpersonal skills and inclusive management style Adaptable and flexible team player Has a strong eye for colour and knows how to give colour direction Experience with sales data and analysis Keeping up to date with global trends and competitor activity across all markets Additional experience as a make-up artist is a bonus
