Who are we?
Social value is a rapidly developing approach to addressing societal challenges and aiming to create flourishing and sustainable communities and places.
SVP is a young and ambitious London & Manchester-based Software as a Service (SaaS) business which works with public and private sector clients across the UK. We have a suite of market-leading, online collaboration tools that enable our clients in the public, private and community and voluntary sectors to work together to deliver social value, based around an evidence-led social value measurement framework which we developed, called the TOM System (Themes, Outcomes and Measures).
There are three essential components to our business, which are underpinned by the TOM System:
- Managing, monitoring and reporting social value using the online Portal
- Research and development of methodologies and products to support the Portal
- Consultancy and advisory work with clients to assist in the development of social value strategies and approaches
Social value is at the heart of everything we do here at SVP. As such, robust policies and additional benefits for staff are key internal initiatives, including a comprehensive Employee Assistance Programme, private health cover, Life Assurance, L&D budget per head and a cycle to work scheme. To benefit our communities, all our employees are entitled to 48 hours (6 days) paid volunteering time, in addition to 25 days of annual leave (plus your birthday off!). It is expected that all employees combine their expert skills and passions to go above and beyond by volunteering in local projects for the benefit of our society.
The Role
We have multiple roles to hire; both a Consultant level and Senior Consultant. We are looking for experienced client handlers to come and join a growing team within a growing business (we have recently secured Series B funding). Social value is about taking steps to drive economic, social and environmental outcomes for communities and society as a whole. The dedicated Consultancy team at SVP supports organisations in the private and public sectors to do more in this space by offering a range of services, including strategy and policy development, local needs analysis and corporate reporting.
This role will sit within our Strategy, Policy, & Corporate Reporting division of the Consultancy team. It will be dedicated to advising our clients on strategically incorporating social value creation across their organisations, helping them maximise the value they deliver for society.
Typical tasks for the new Senior Social Value Consultant will include:
- Co-creating simple but effective social value strategies with our client and member base – increasingly for larger, multi-territory, more complex organisations
- Engaging with clients to understand their needs and identify opportunities that guide their social value approach
- Managing multiple, simultaneous projects from day one – adaptability and proactivity is crucial
- Facilitating client workshops and conducting a range of stakeholder engagement exercises
- Undertaking research and writing presentations, reports and policies
- Managing relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including clients outside of the UK
- Supporting business development opportunities.
Organisations that we are currently working with range from the Government Property Agency, Prologis, Compass Group and CDW.
