About the Challenge
UpSkill Digital is looking for an Operations Director to join our leadership team. The Operations Director will be responsible for driving operational excellence and innovation across all aspects of the business. This includes overseeing daily core operations such as HR, Facilities and Finance. You'll also be managing cross-business systems, and ensuring seamless integration and alignment between various departments and functions. The ideal candidate will have excellent people skills, business acumen, and exemplary work ethic.
What we’re looking for:
- Minimum 6 years proven experience as Director of Operations, Chief Commercial/Business Officer, Chief Operating Officer or similar position, more specifically in high-growth businesses
- Superior knowledge of multiple operational functions and principles including finance, product, systems and people
- Experience in building and leading successful teams across multiple functions in high-growth, high-performance workplaces
- Demonstrable experience in operations, consulting, strategy, or business planning, ideally in a fast-paced tech scale-up environment.
- Ability to streamline or implement structures and roles that increase speed and efficiency while supporting shifting business demands.
- Masterful leadership experience backed by professional success.
- Proven success in leading and navigating complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Proficiency in numerical analysis, building models, and data interpretation.

What's the job exactly? Main duties will include:
- Develop and implement operational strategies, plans, and procedures to achieve organisational goals.
- Oversee day-to-day operations across all departments, from client onboarding and program development to brand alignment, financial modelling, and system management.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability across the organisation.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, including accreditation standards and data privacy regulations.
- Drive continuous improvement in operational efficiency, effectiveness, and scalability by leveraging data-driven insights and best practices.

- Periodically review and redefine operational and organisational structure to maximise growth opportunities.
- Collaborate with the CEO and other executive team members on new business and financial models for product evolution and market expansion (national and international).
- Optimise gross profit and margins through exceptional cost management practices.
- Model financial and business impact of pricing options; maximise tax efficiencies through R&D initiatives.
- Develop and implement operational policies and workflows, promote cross-departmental collaboration, and streamline communication between teams.
- Collaborate with HR on hiring operations specialists, establish onboarding and training programs, and provide clear leadership to the product operations team.
- Build a comprehensive knowledge base for products and services, optimise client experience best practices, and oversee the tech stack for product delivery
- Build and manage relationships and agreements with external partners and vendors, ensuring that our SLAs, contracts, and all other legal documentation are constantly relevant, compliant, and considered risk
- Managing a risk register to ensure all operations adhere to the necessary policies
- Establish our data infrastructure (reporting, customer/client feedback, A/B testing, GDPR compliance)
