US Sales Director

Salary: $150k - $220k base (depending on skills and experience) plus 100% OTE and equity

Reporting to: Nick Rainey (Head of US Growth)

Location: NY State - Hybrid, flexible working policy. The role will be primarily remote, but with an expectation that the individual is in-person at least once a week for meetings.

Start date: ASAP

Good-Loop’s ethical, carbon-neutral advertising has raised over $6m for charities around the world and planted over a million trees – all whilst supporting high-quality journalism and diverse publications.

Since launching in the USA we have seen >100% growth year-on-year backed by meaningful early-adoption across most of the large agency groups, despite only selling remotely from the UK. The stage is set for massive US expansion building on this success and we are looking for our first in-market hires to help facilitate this.

As the first carbon-neutral BCorp in AdTech, Good-Loop is uniquely positioned to capitalise on the increasing consumer demand for businesses to step up and contribute to society. We’re a small, but agile and fast-moving team with a lot of heart and even more ambition.

The role will report to the Head of US Growth, working closely alongside them and the CEO to grow revenue and relationships across the US. We are looking to work closely with somebody who has experience in-market, valuable industry contacts and the ambition to be part of building out a powerhouse team that will change the way media is bought forever.

This is a consultative sales role so we are looking for someone with an entrepreneurial mind-set who is able to hustle and think creatively. We're looking for an experienced candidate that has strong Tier 1 and 2 agency and / or client direct relationships with the ability to grow accounts and continue to seek out new business.

Crucially, we're all incredibly proud of, and passionate about, the Good-Loop mission to make advertising a positive force in the world. It is essential that the new sales person believes in this too and helps to compliment the great work we have already achieved and are looking to build on in the future.

  • Own and drive the overall East coast business via a strategic approach focused on Tier 1 & Tier 2 agencies.
  • Proactively build pipelines and close new business to achieve ambitious revenue targets.
  • Create and deliver business pitches.
  • Meet and exceed quarterly and annual revenue targets.
  • Become a trusted expert in brand purpose, ethical media, sustainability and CSR - providing training, advice and consultative selling to your clients
  • Work with other internal functions, advising on the competitive commercial landscape and helping to ensure the Good-Loop proposition remains competitive and highly valued.
  • Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs.
  • Identify emerging opportunities and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status.
  • Strong agency and client-direct relationships focused on but not limited to the East region.
  • Exceptional track record in developing new business and smashing targets.
  • You are a self-starter looking to make a real tangible difference to a business that is in an exciting scale up stage.
  • You aren't afraid to speak up if you have a good idea - we will listen.
  • You can be tenacious enough to get us through the door, as a relatively unknown brand in market, and you can push just hard enough to turn that meeting into a commercial opportunity and a long term partnership.   • 3-5yrs+ previous experience within the agency sales/advertising industry, ideally with 2+ years experience closing deals.
  • Deep understanding of the digital advertising ecosystem and familiarity with the programmatic landscape.
  • Previous experience of demonstrable success at achieving or exceeding goals and/or targets.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Ability to quickly develop in-depth expertise, with a focus on brand purpose & social impact
  • Committed to continuous education through workshops, seminars and conferences.
  • Strong business sense and curiosity for the industry.
  • Attend key industry events to network & represent Good-Loop.
