Quality Assurance Analyst

Seeking a 4-day analyst to use their software testing skills to make great ideas happen.

Four day week role (30 hours), Hybrid - Cornwall / Dorset

At Crowdfunder, we’re looking for a talented and motivated individual to join our team. As our Quality Assurance Analyst, you will work across the business to play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions.

This is a new role that will be part of the Product team, working very closely with the Engineering department in a fast-paced agile environment. It offers an exciting opportunity to define and build the QA best practices for the organisation, ensuring the delivery of high quality solutions that enable the crowd to do more than ever before.

Typical responsibilities of the role include:

  • Test execution within sprints
  • Contribute to user stories and acceptance criteria to ensure a full understanding of end user requirements.
  • Identification of functional and non-functional test requirements.
  • Plan, create, evaluate, and track testing results.
  • Estimate quality assurance efforts on user stories.
  • Develop and maintain test environments and test data as needed for testing activities.
  • QA Strategy
  • Build and maintain a regression test suite.
  • Assist in the selection, design, development, and implementation of quality assurance tools.
  • Use data to inform QA decisions and test metrics 
  • Defect management
  • Perform exploratory testing to identify defects that may have been missed in test cases.
  • Triage of defects reported from across the business.
  • Report defects in Jira  with accurate and concise steps to reproduce, ensuring issues are tracked to resolution.
  • Identify defect trends and problem areas within the system.
  • Collaboration
  • Work closely with Product and Engineering teams through agile software development processes.
  • Actively input into feature scoping and development.
  • Communicate quantitative and qualitative findings from test results.
  • Support business users to document and complete User Acceptance Testing.

What we're looking for

  • Experience of software testing
  • Experience with test case design, test execution, and bug tracking.
  • Knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks is a plus.
  • Experience in performance, usability and accessibility testing.
  • Attention to detail
  • Critical Eye: able to analyse and anticipate potential issues within software and user flows, and rigorously verify and validate the effectiveness of developed solutions against specification.
  • Systematic: takes a disciplined and systematic approach to quality assurance, and the identification and resolution of defects and other issues associated with platform releases. Able to specify and implement testing strategies, and link these to detailed planning and execution of QA process.
  • Demonstrated writing, editing, and proofing skills with attention to clarity, grammar, and detail.
  • Collaborative
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a wider cross-functional team, in a fast-paced, agile environment. 
  • Strong communication skills to seek out details, express ideas, and present solutions in ways the audience can understand.
  • Strong analytical and proactive problem solving skills.
  • Eagerness to learn and an aptitude for picking things up quickly
  • Data and systems
  • Proficiency in SQL would be a nice to have.
  • Comfortable using data and research to inform and iterate on QA processes and metrics.
  • Experience of using Jira would be useful.


Life at Crowdfunder

In return for your contribution, we’ll offer you a flexible part-time contract and hybrid working. This role will need to spend some time in either our Newquay or Dorset offices, and be able to meet up for the day in Exeter every couple of months, but we know our crowd is based across the UK so we’re happy to discuss hybrid or remote strategies for the right person.
