Introduction to the role
The Rights Assistant role provides vital administrative support to the Farshore Rights Team and where necessary across the Rights group. This role is business and administrative focused, fast paced and varied, requiring accuracy and attention to detail. You will be contributing to a key commercial division of HarperCollins and will have the opportunity to develop key transferable skills.
Key tasks and accountabilities
Working closely with the Farshore Rights team to ensure the maintenance and accuracy of our rights system and database, adding translation deals / customers / contracts to database
Contracts: getting comfortable with contracts and their terms (old and new); supporting the creation & drafting of contracts and logging on database
Adding contracts to Docusign and linking to Database
General and administrative support to Farshore Rights team in US and Translation rights
Creating / extracting and sending out royalty invoices to customers, chasing outstanding invoices
Supporting the Rights team with book fair and trip preparations e.g. arranging schedules, ordering books, shipping arrangements
Experience and Skills required
Experience of working in an office environment
A keen interest in Rights and the desire to learn more about this part of the business and its place in the industry
Impeccable record keeping and proactive follow ups
Being comfortable with an administrative and business-focused workload.
Solutions focused and proactive attitude
Tech-savvy with computer skills in Word and Excel
Meticulous attention to detail when working with systems and large sums of data.
Methodical with the ability to prioritise and manage a high workload
Good levels of numeracy skills
