ROLE

Climate Impact Partners, a leading provider of high quality carbon credit programmes, is looking for an Energy Attribute Certificates (EAC) Sourcing Associate to support the Global EAC Manager working within Climate Impact Partner’s Global Sourcing team. The role involves working cross functionally with all teams, including Portfolio Management, Sales, Marketing, Fulfillment and Finance, to ensure the company originates and delivers the best EAC solutions. The role requires knowledge of the typical EAC standards around the world, the corporate EAC voluntary market, and the common reporting standards which guide the voluntary market’s participation in EACs.

The successful candidate will report to and collaborate closely with the Global EAC Manager to source a range of Global EACs to meet exacting client demands, and to provide a range of technical and commercial support for colleagues, project partners, and existing and prospective clients.

The individual will develop and manage supplier relationships, conduct supplier due diligence, negotiate supply agreements, prepare contracts, and oversee instrument delivery and fulfilment. They will be expected to input into Climate Impact Partner’s inventory management system and help to develop more efficient processes in and around this system. They will assist with data retrieval and analysis, and strategy development utilizing their technical understanding and business acumen.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, diligent, and detail orientated, plus have a willingness and commitment to become an expert in existing and emerging Global EAC standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assisting in sourcing EACs, including but not limited to NA RECs, UK REGOs, European GOs, I-RECs and new EAC products in emerging markets, including:
  • Liaising with suppliers to receive quotations.
  • Reviewing and assessing quotations for quality, price, and alignment to exacting client demands.
  • Negotiating, and preparing commercial contracts for sign off with supply partners and overseeing the delivery of the contracted EACs across the various tracking system registries.
  • Developing new EAC registered projects and supply leads by identifying and onboarding potential project partners, responding to inbound inquiries, and tracking registry listings.
  • Supporting wholesale sell side transactions, including developing new relationships, onboarding counterparties and taking responsibility of some accounts.
  • Contributing towards the preparation of Requests for Proposals.
  • Educating colleagues as appropriate, translating the technical aspects of EAC projects.
  • Creating and maintaining a wide network of successful relationships with project and supply partners to enable creation of portfolio proposals to meet client needs and deadlines.
  • Collaborating with the Marketing team in the writing of project fact sheets and marketing material.
  • Collaborating with the Finance and Fulfillment teams to ensure streamlined instrument delivery, supplier payment, and reporting.
  • Monitoring price data on a regular basis to inform purchasing and pricing decisions.
  • Managing EAC product label relationships including audits for product labels such as Green-e Energy and EKOenergy.
  • Working independently, and travelling internationally as and when it is required.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Previous experience in energy attribute certificate markets.
  • Knowledge of the key international EAC markets.
  • Commercial mindset to represent and protect business’ interests.
  • Ability to solve complex problems and make challenging decisions, based on sound judgement and analytical techniques.
  • Excellent time management and prioritisation skills to operate successfully and efficiently in a competitive market where demand is high.
  • Good all-round communicator - both written and verbal - who enjoys building relationships and networking with internal and external stakeholders.
  • High level of proficiency with MS Office products with a proven ability to analyse and present data using Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to research information from divergent sources and compile research into a concise reporting structure.
  • Self-starting, independent worker who thrives with responsibility in a fast-paced and rewarding business.

DESIRABLE

  • Existing relationships with key EAC suppliers and or generators
  • Understanding of the key EAC market registries, and the corresponding EAC and registry rules.
