We're looking for a Backend Engineer to join us to help Lyst grow and maintain our CRM Lifecycle technology. You will work closely with our current engineers, designers, marketing, growth and product managers to help us execute our product strategy. You will be a subject matter expert on all technical aspects of our CRM Platform (powered by Braze) and work with the CRM Director, designing, delivering and documenting repeatable, flexible and efficient campaign solutions within the Braze platform.

As a Backend Engineer, you will identify, design and implement internal process improvements; automating manual processes, optimising data delivery, re-designing processes and solutions for reduced time to market, and creating replicable solution templates to support low operating effort and greater scalability. A key part of the role is to support the initiatives of the CRM team, enabling effective communications that keep users engaged with Lyst.

What will you be working on?

  • Optimise, improve, evolve our data integration between our systems and Braze
  • Monitor our services for any signs of performance bottlenecks or errors
  • Work with Senior Operations Manager and CRM Director flexible and efficient campaign solutions within the Braze platform.
  • Support key downstream systems and provide essential data pipelines for campaign personalization, targeting, reporting and analytics.
  • Help to build and maintain a customer model to enable our personalisation and retention strategy
  • Work with other engineers around the business to bring more data sources into our CRM comms

Requirements

  • Proven experience with Django / Python and backend software fundamentals (SQL, Git)
  • Experience with API design and architecting systems for scale
  • Communication: You are able to communicate clearly and be humble when sharing ideas with everyone on the team. You are able to explain your ideas clearly and transform them into plans. You are able to design the solution to a complex problem.
  • You strive to write code that is readable by everyone, well tested and robust in production.
  • You aren’t afraid to refactor existing code in favour of working around shortcomings.
  • (Bonus) experience working with CRM enterprise software solutions
